At the top of the inner circle, flanked by two pellets, appears a fleur-de-lis privy mark serving as the mint mark of Harderwijk. The bold, deeply struck lettering is characteristic of mid-seventeenth-century Dutch hammered coinage, and the angular corners of the klippe flan extend well beyond the circular border. |
