| 正面描述 | The obverse displays the denomination numeral '2' and the initial 'S' (for Stuivers) in large, bold raised characters centrally positioned within the irregular flan. The figures are separated by a small ornamental device and are surrounded by a border of raised pellets arranged in a semicircular pattern along the upper and lower margins, lending a decorative frame to the composition typical of crude colonial hammered copper coinage. |

The VOC's copper coinage for its Asian territories was still being struck in the final years of the company's existence — a peculiar bureaucratic inertia given that the States-General had already nationalized the bankrupt organization in 1799. These pieces were produced under the Batavian Republic's authority but retained VOC imagery, the charter having legally expired yet the administrative machinery grinding on.
At 46 grams, this is an unusually heavy piece for a 2 stuiver denomination — a weight driven by the need to match local commodity value expectations in the Java trade rather than any metropolitan Dutch standard.
