Obverse description Irregular hammered flan bearing a two-line Latin legend in large capital letters reading INSV / LA·ST, an abbreviation for Insula Stevensweert, arranged across the central field. A lily mintmark appears above the inscription. The lettering is boldly struck in a plain field with no border, typical of the crude hammered coinage of minor Dutch lordships in the early seventeenth century.

Reverse description The rampant Berghse lion occupies the central field, depicted in typical heraldic style as used by the lords of Stevensweert, with the denomination mark 2·S flanking the lion on either side — the numeral 2 to the left and the letter S to the right. The design is struck on a crudely shaped irregular flan with a plain, unbordered field, consistent with the hammered technique employed for this issue.
