Obverse description Central crowned four-fold coat of arms featuring the Jever lion on a central inescutcheon, with the denomination mark 2-S divided on either side of the shield. The arms are enclosed within an elaborate wreath of foliate and strapwork ornament. The circumferential legend reads the abbreviated titles of Prince Karl Wilhelm: CARL WILH. P. А. С. A. D. S. B. I. & K., representing Carolus Wilhelmus Princeps Anhaltinus Comes Ascaniae Dominus Servestae Bernburgi Jeverae et Knyphusii. The overall design is characteristic of late 17th-century German small coinage with bold relief.
