Reverse description Central device consisting of an ornate floriated long cross with fleur-de-lis terminals at each arm, the four quarters filled with elaborate Gothic floral or trefoil flourishes, characteristic of 14th-century Low Countries ecclesiastical gros coinage. The cross motif is enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The surrounding legend in Gothic uncial script, running between the inner border and the irregular toothed outer rim, records the mint attribution to Huy and the coin's status as a new coinage.
