Reverse description A crowned lion rampant to the left, set within a beaded inner circle adorned with an ornamental wreath or foliate border, occupying the central field of the reverse. The lion is depicted with fine mane detail and an upraised forepaw, representing the Danish royal heraldic beast. The date 1658 is split and incorporated into the legend, appearing in the lower portion of the coin flanking the inner circle. The peripheral legend is separated from the inner wreath border by a plain field, conveying the biblical motto of divine providence.
