| 正面描述 | Right-facing draped bust of Emperor Charles VI, wearing an elaborate crown and long flowing curled wig. The effigy is rendered in high relief with fine baroque detailing on the drapery and crown. The circular legend runs along the periphery of the coin, interrupted at the base of the bust. A cross and a small fleur-de-lis ornament punctuate the legend. |

The 2 Sovereigns of Brabant under Charles VI continued a denomination with roots deep in the Spanish Netherlands — the sovereign itself having been introduced under Albert and Isabella in the early seventeenth century. Charles ruled Brabant as Holy Roman Emperor and Archduke of Austria, having wrested the southern Netherlands from French ambitions formalized at the Treaty of Utrecht in 1713. The short date range of this issue, confined to 1719–1720, likely reflects the monetary pressures accompanying his ultimately failed attempt to establish the Ostend Company as a rival to the Dutch and English trading monopolies.
