Reverse description The iconic Pistrucci reverse design depicts Saint George, helmeted and in classical heroic nudity with a billowing cloak, mounted on a rearing horse and thrusting a broken lance downward into a writhing dragon beneath the horse's hooves. The composition fills the field dynamically, with the dragon rendered in expressive detail in the lower right quadrant. The engraver's initials B.P. appear to the right of the exergual line, and the date 2024 is inscribed in the exergue below.
