Obverse description Central device features a palm tree flanked by two llamas couchant on a ground line, representing the Bolivian coat of arms in simplified form. Ten six-pointed stars arc across the upper field, encircling the central design. The circular legend REPUBLICA BOLIVIANA runs along the upper periphery, while the denomination 2S, the date, and the mintmaster initials appear in the lower exergual area. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded inner border. The style is characteristic of mid-nineteenth-century South American milled coinage produced at the Potosí Mint.
