正面描述 Facing bust of Saint Mark the Evangelist, depicted with a nimbus (halo) and emerging from a stylized winged lion body, rendered in a bold, archaic manner characteristic of late 17th-century Venetian coinage. The figure is framed within the coin's field with a horizontal line separating the main device from the lower segment, which bears the denomination numeral II flanked by small stars. The circular legend S·MARC·VEN·II runs along the upper periphery in Latin capitals, separated by pellets, all within a dentilated border.

附加信息

The 2 Soldi for Dalmatia and Albania was struck specifically for Venetian possessions along the eastern Adriatic during the War of the Holy League — the prolonged conflict beginning in 1684 in which Venice, Austria, Poland, and the Papacy pushed back against Ottoman expansion following the failed siege of Vienna. Venice recaptured significant Dalmatian territory during these years, and a dedicated coinage for the region was a practical administrative measure as much as anything else. The Albanian designation reflects Venetian footholds on the Albanian coast that were increasingly difficult to hold.
