| Obverse description | The winged Lion of St. Mark depicted facing, with outstretched wings filling the field, holding an open Gospel book between its forepaws. The design is enclosed within a beaded or toothed inner border, with the abbreviated Latin legend distributed around the periphery. The denomination numeral II appears in the exergue, flanked by star ornaments, separated from the main device by a horizontal line. The overall style is characteristic of late Venetian hammered coinage, rendered in bold but somewhat crude relief. |
