Obverse description Three crowned shields arranged in triangular formation representing Denmark, Norway, and the Dannebrog Cross, set within a beaded inner ring with foliate or floral ornaments occupying the central field between the shields. The shields interrupt the surrounding legend, which is further enclosed by a second beaded ring along the outer rim. The overall design reflects the characteristic Gothic style of mid-sixteenth-century Danish hammered coinage.
