| Obverse description | Bare-headed effigy of King Oscar I facing right, rendered in high relief with finely detailed naturalistic hair swept back in wavy locks. The portrait, characteristic of the so-called 'small head' variety, is positioned centrally in the field with the truncation at the base of the neck. A continuous Latin legend encircles the effigy along the rim, reading from lower left to upper right. The engraving exhibits the refined neoclassical style typical of mid-19th-century Swedish coinage. |
