| Obverse description | The Kenyan coat of arms occupies the central field, featuring a traditional Maasai shield and two crossed spears, supported by two rampant lions flanking either side. The date is divided by the supporters at the lower left and right of the shield, with the motto HARAMBEE inscribed on a scroll beneath. The denomination numeral '2' appears below the arms, with the legend REPUBLIC OF KENYA arcing along the upper periphery and TWO SHILLINGS along the lower periphery in incuse lettering. |
