Reverse description The central device, designed by George Kruger Gray, features a Tudor rose surmounted by an Imperial State Crown, flanked to the left by a Scottish thistle and to the right by an Irish shamrock, all rising from a leafy stem. The royal cypher 'G R' flanks the central rose at mid-field, with the engraver's initials 'KG' visible at the base of the stem. The circumferential legend reads FID:DEF: IND:IMP: TWO SHILLINGS followed by the date, separated by raised dots, encircling the design within a beaded border.
