Popis líce	Right-facing effigy of King George VI, bare-headed, with a draped and armored bust. The legend surrounds the portrait along the rim, reading GEORGE VI KING EMPEROR, with the abbreviated title PM also present. The portrait was engraved by Percy Metcalfe in a restrained, classical style typical of mid-twentieth-century British colonial coinage. The field is plain, with the king's likeness occupying the central device.

The date 1947 is inscribed within the legend, and the designer's monogram KG is present, referencing engraver George Kruger Gray.
