Obverse description Right-facing portrait bust of President Kenneth Kaunda, rendered in high relief with a naturalistic, modernist style engraved by Christopher Ironside. The effigy fills the central field prominently, with fine surface detail on the facial features and close-cropped hair. The legend ZAMBIA arcs across the upper periphery in incuse capital letters, while the date 1966 appears in the lower field beneath the portrait.
