| Beschrijving keerzijde | Royal inscription in three lines of nasta'liq script within the field, reading the devotional epithet of Shah Sultan Husayn ('Servant of the Shah of Sanctity, Husayn'), followed by the mint name Tabriz and a partial regnal year. A horizontal line divides the upper and lower legend registers. The strike is characteristic of the late Safavid third silver standard, with a broad, irregular flan and bold but somewhat worn lettering. |

Sultan Husayn was the last effective Safavid shah, and these years bracket the Afghan invasion that ended his reign. Mahmud Hotaki's forces besieged Isfahan from 1721, and the city fell in October 1722 after a catastrophic famine killed tens of thousands of civilians. Sultan Husayn abdicated personally to Mahmud in the ruins of his own capital.
Tabriz, closer to the Ottoman frontier, remained outside the immediate siege zone, which may explain continued mint activity there into 1722. Album 2684 encompasses several die varieties across this compressed period; attribution to the Third Silver Standard reflects Safavid monetary debasement well underway before the collapse.
