| Obverse description | The Kalima shahada rendered in bold nasta'liq script across the coin field, divided into three lines: the first line reads the declaration of tawhid ('There is no god but God'), the second line the declaration of Muhammad's prophethood, and the third line the Shia affirmation of Ali's authority ('Ali is the friend of God'). The script is deeply struck and fills the irregular flan, characteristic of late Safavid hammered coinage. No border ornament is present. |
