| Obverse description | The obverse features bold Nasta'liq calligraphy arranged in a cartouche-style composition across the field, presenting the Shi'a kalima and the names of the Twelve Imams in Persian script. The central legend reads the shahada followed by the name of Ali as wali Allah, with the names of the remaining eleven Imams arranged in the surrounding field and border. The hammered flan displays characteristic irregular edges and a slightly uneven strike typical of Safavid workshop production. The inscription is rendered in high relief against a flat, undecorated field, consistent with the Second Standard coinage introduced under Shah Abbas I. |
