| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central field bearing the Shi'a profession of faith in bold nasta'liq-style Arabic calligraphy, reading 'Ali Wali Allah' (Ali is the friend of God), arranged in two registers across the flan. A horizontal dividing line separates the upper and lower portions of the legend, with additional Quranic or devotional text partially visible at the periphery. The strike is characteristic of late Safavid hammered coinage, with slightly irregular flan edges and some weakness at the margins. The field is unadorned save for the calligraphic inscription, which dominates the entire face of the coin. Overall execution reflects the provincial mint style of Huwayza. |
