正面描述 Left-facing effigy of King Jigme Singye Wangchuck wearing the traditional Bhutanese raven crown (Druk Gyalpo's ceremonial headgear), richly ornamented with scrollwork and surmounted by a raven's head. A circular legend in Dzongkha script surrounds the portrait, running along the upper periphery of the field. The date 1979, flanked by two raised dots, appears in the exergue below the effigy.

附加信息

The sertum — from the Latin aureus by way of coin designer convention — was introduced as Bhutan's modern gold denomination in the 1960s, intended primarily for international collector markets rather than domestic circulation. The 1979 issue coincides with the early reign of Jigme Singye Wangchuck, who had acceded to the throne in 1972 at age sixteen following his father's sudden death, making him one of the youngest reigning monarchs in the world at the time.

KM#52 is part of a proof-oriented series with limited distribution through specialist dealers. Bhutan had no domestic mint; production was contracted abroad.
