| Obverse description | Central field dominated by the elegantly entwined royal cypher of Christian VII, formed by the interlaced letters C and R surmounted by the numeral VII at the base, executed in a flowing cursive style with decorative flourishes and scrollwork at the lower terminals. The cypher is topped by a finely detailed royal crown with cross finial and beaded arches, rendered in high relief. The field is plain and unadorned, with no peripheral legend, giving full visual prominence to the monogram. The overall design is characteristically restrained in the late 18th-century Scandinavian neoclassical tradition. |
