Beschrijving voorzijde The crowned coat of arms of the Republic of San Marino occupies the central field, depicting a shield bearing three towers on a mount, flanked on the left by an olive branch and on the right by an oak branch, both rendered in fine relief. A coronet surmounts the shield. The circular legend REPUBBLICA DI SAN MARINO arcs along the upper periphery in raised Latin lettering, while the word LIBERTAS appears on a scroll-like ribbon beneath the shield. The engraver's signature A. NAPOLIONE is inscribed below the ribbon in the lower field.

Aanvullende informatie

San Marino issues gold commemoratives under a long-standing arrangement with the Italian state that permits it to mint euro-denominated collector coins despite not being a eurozone member in the conventional sense. The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Consolation, located just outside Caiazzo in Campania, has drawn pilgrims since the 15th century — though San Marino's connection to it is devotional rather than territorial, reflecting the republic's tradition of honoring Italian Catholic shrines in its commemorative program.

Struck at the Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato in Rome, as is standard for San Marino gold issues of this period.
