Reverse description Within a plain inner circle, the arms of Reval are depicted as a heraldic shield bearing three passant lions arranged in pale, one above the other, rendered in the Gothic style typical of Livonian coinage of the mid-sixteenth century. The shield is set against a plain field and enclosed by the circular legend MONETA · NOVA · REVALIE ·, identifying this as a new coin of Reval. The legends are separated from the central device by the inner ring, and a cross stop marks the beginning of the inscription.
