背面描述 A quatrefoil arrangement of four heraldic shields fills the central field, each bearing the arms associated with the Duchy of Mecklenburg, set within a decorative quatre-lobed frame. The shields are arranged symmetrically around a central point, creating a cruciform composition. The entire central device is surrounded by a beaded inner circle, with the Latin legend MONET•NOVA•DVCI•MANOPOLEN running continuously around the outer border in Gothic-influenced lettering, identifying this as a new coinage of the Duke of Mecklenburg.

附加信息

Albert VII ruled Mecklenburg jointly with his brother Henry V for much of the early sixteenth century, a dynastic arrangement that produced considerable administrative friction and an inconsistently struck coinage. The division of the territory between the two brothers — formalized in 1520 — meant parallel mint operations running simultaneously, which accounts for the overlapping and sometimes contradictory attributions that plague this series to this day.

Kunzel's catalog remains the standard reference for Mecklenburg coinage of this period, and his #55 attribution places this piece firmly within Albert's independent issues rather than the joint coinage.
