An inner ring contains seven heraldic shields representing the principal dominions of the House of Habsburg, while a second outer ring displays nineteen smaller shields depicting the arms of additional territories under Maximilian's rule. The composition is arranged concentrically in an elaborate display of dynastic heraldry characteristic of the Tyrolean mint's finest Renaissance workmanship. |
