| Obverse description | The Lion Capital of Ashoka, the national emblem of India, is depicted centrally in high relief, showing three lions atop an abacus decorated with a Dharma Chakra (wheel) flanked by a bull and a horse in low relief. Below the emblem, the motto सत्यमेव जयते (Satyameva Jayate, meaning 'Truth Alone Triumphs') is inscribed in Devanagari script. The numeral '2' appears prominently in the lower field, flanked by the denomination legends 'रूपये' (in Devanagari) to the left and 'RUPEES' (in Latin) to the right, both reading upward along the coin's edge.
