| Obverse description | Central device depicts the Lion Capital of Ashoka, the national emblem of India, rendered in fine relief with three lions passant gardant atop an abacus bearing a central Dharma Chakra flanked by a bull and a horse. The motto सत्यमेव जयते (Satyameva Jayate, meaning 'Truth Alone Triumphs') appears in Devanagari script immediately below the emblem.
