| 正面描述 | The obverse features the traditional Nepali coin design arranged within an elaborate geometric mandala-like framework composed of interlocking panels and decorative borders. At the centre of the design is a stylised trident (trishula), a symbol associated with the royal house, enclosed within a circular medallion. The royal name and titles of King Birendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev are inscribed in Devanagari script across the surrounding panels, reading outward from the central motif. Decorative elements including floral and vegetal symbols occupy the corner panels of the geometric framework. The Bikram Sambat year 2038, corresponding to 1981 CE, appears in Devanagari numerals along the lower register. |

The central field depicts a stylised ear of maize and a sheaf of grain, prominently rendered as agricultural symbols. To the right, the circular FAO World Food Day logo is inscribed with the date 15-10-1981. The denomination '2 Rupees' (२ रुपैयाँ) and the invocation 'श्री भवानी' appear in Devanagari script in the upper field, while the Devanagari legend 'विश्व खाद्य दिवस नेपाल' (World Food Day Nepal) runs along the lower arc.
