| Obverse description | The obverse features the Indian national emblem, the Ashoka Lion Capital, positioned to the left of centre within a band defined by two horizontal lines that divide the field into three registers. The country name appears in the upper register in Devanagari script (भारत) and Latin script (INDIA). Below the emblem, the national motto सत्यमेव जयते (Satyameva Jayate) is inscribed in Devanagari. The large numeral '2' occupies the right portion of the central register, while the denomination legend रुपये RUPEES appears in the lower register in both Devanagari and Latin scripts. |
