| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central design features a large stylized cogwheel set against a sunburst or radiating pattern, symbolizing industrial development and cooperative progress, with wheat sheaves or agricultural motifs flanking the gear to represent economic growth. An inner legend arcing around the central device reads PLANNING PROSPERITY TOGETHER in Latin script, while the outer legend carries the name COLOMBO PLAN in Latin to the left and equivalent inscriptions in Sinhala and Tamil script to the right. The commemorative date range 1951 - 2001 appears along the lower periphery, marking the fiftieth anniversary of the Colombo Plan. The entire design is encircled by a fine beaded border. |
