正面描述	The obverse features a large numeral '2' prominently centered in the field, flanked by the legend 'REPUBLIC OF MALDIVES' arcing along the upper periphery in Latin script. Below the numeral appears the denomination in Thaana script, followed by 'RUFIYAA' in Latin letters. At the lower portion of the coin, two ropes extend from either side of the field and meet at the bottom, their ends tied together in a decorative reef knot, evoking the maritime heritage of the Maldives.
