The Danish Asiatic Company's plantation coinage for the Tranquebar settlement on the Coromandel Coast operated almost entirely outside Danish royal monetary authority — the Company struck its own silver on its own schedule, answerable to shareholders in Copenhagen rather than to the crown. The 2 Royaliner denomination circulated within a highly localized trade economy, used primarily in Company transactions with local merchants and laborers rather than in broader Indo-Danish commerce.
Block F designation distinguishes this emission within a series differentiated by die block, a classification refined by later scholarship to account for the significant variation in planchet preparation and striking quality across the decade-long issue window.
