| Obverse description | At centre, the two-headed eagle emblem of the Bank of Russia after the design of Ivan Bilibin is rendered in the field, with the semicircular legend «БАНК РОССИИ» (BANK OF RUSSIA) curving beneath it, the whole enclosed by a beaded circle. Along the upper rim runs the denomination legend «ДВА РУБЛЯ» (TWO ROUBLES), while the date «1998» appears along the lower rim. To the left of the eagle, the metal purity designation «Ag 925» is inscribed; to the right, the fine metal content «15,55» and the Saint Petersburg Mint privy mark (СПМД) are noted. |
