Beschrijving keerzijde Against a frosted matte field, a highly detailed proof-finished scorpion is rendered in relief at centre, its segmented body and curved tail depicted with naturalistic precision. Surrounding the scorpion are stylised sprigs of vegetation and a scattering of stars evocative of a celestial map. The astrological symbol for Scorpio (♏) is prominently featured, serving as the primary inscription. The composition draws on both zodiacal iconography and natural history, characteristic of the Bank of Russia's Signs of the Zodiac collector series.

Aanvullende informatie

Part of a twelve-coin zodiac series issued by the Bank of Russia in 2005, these collector pieces were produced in strictly limited quantities and sold through official channels rather than released into circulation. Russia's zodiac silver program was aimed squarely at the domestic gift market — a deliberate revenue strategy the CBR pursued aggressively throughout the mid-2000s as collector coin sales became a meaningful income stream. Mintage for individual signs in the series varied, making some issues considerably harder to locate than others.
