The Orthodox Church of St. Michael the Archangel in Synkavichy is one of the oldest surviving Gothic religious structures in Belarus, built in the late 15th or early 16th century — an architectural rarity in a region where most structures of that period were destroyed across successive wars. Its defensive towers mark it as a fortified church, a design more common in Catholic Poland-Lithuania than in Orthodox ecclesiastical architecture, reflecting the complex confessional geography of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania at the time of its construction.
