正面描述	At centre, the double-headed eagle emblem of the Bank of Russia after the design of Ivan Bilibin, displayed with spread wings. Surrounding the eagle is a beaded circle, above which the denomination legend «ДВА РУБЛЯ» (TWO ROUBLES) appears along the upper rim, and the date «1999» along the lower rim. A semicircular inscription «БАНК РОССИИ» (BANK OF RUSSIA) is positioned beneath the eagle within the beaded border. To the left of the eagle in the field, the metal purity designation «Ag 925» is inscribed, while to the right the fine metal content «15,55» and the Moscow Mint monogram «ММД» appear.

背面描述	A three-quarter portrait of the physiologist Ivan Petrovich Pavlov dominates the field. To the left of the portrait, a dog is depicted in profile, referencing Pavlov's renowned research into conditioned reflexes. To the right, atop a stack of books, rest an academic mortarboard and a gown, symbolising his scholarly achievements. At the lower portion of the field, a serpent entwined around a cup — the Rod of Asclepius — alludes to the medical sciences. Along the upper rim, the legend «1849 И.П.ПАВЛОВ 1936» records the birth and death years of the subject.
