| Reverse description | The reverse presents a richly composed commemorative design honouring the Russian Romantic poet Yevgeny Abramovich Baratynsky. To the right, an oval portrait of Baratynsky in period dress is set within a decorative vignette frame. To the left, an evocative landscape scene depicts trees, a small bridge with a column, a rotunda, and a stormy, dramatic sky rendered in fine engraving. In the lower portion of the field, the birth and death years 1800 and 1844 are inscribed on two lines, accompanied by a rose, a lit candle in a candlestick, a manuscript sheet, and a goose quill in an inkpot — symbolic attributes of the poet's literary legacy. The peripheral inscription Е.А.БАРАТЫНСКИЙ curves along the lower rim. |
