| Obverse description | Draped bust of Empress Catherine I facing left, her hair elaborately dressed and adorned with pearls, wearing imperial robes with visible armour detailing at the shoulder. The effigy is rendered in high relief in the early Western European Baroque style introduced under Peter the Great.
