| Obverse description | At centre, the official emblem of the Bank of Russia depicting a double-headed eagle with wings lowered, encircled by a dotted border. The curved legend БАНК РОССИИ arcs beneath the eagle within the inner circle. Along the outer rim, the denomination ДВА РУБЛЯ appears at the top, while the lower arc carries, from left to right, the precious metal designation and fineness (Ag 925), the year of issue 2009 г., the fine metal content (15,55), and the Saint Petersburg Mint monogram СПМД. |

The lower portion of the field features the crowns of trees and a decorative cast-iron fence, upon which the dates 1759–1814 are inscribed, marking the years of the architect's birth and death.
