Chechnya has no monetary authority, no mint, and no legal framework under which it could issue currency — it remains a federal subject of Russia. Pieces like this were produced speculatively, almost certainly outside Russia, for the fantasy collectibles market that briefly flooded online dealers in the early 2010s with spurious "local issues" from disputed or autonomous regions.
