| Obverse description | The obverse presents a densely composed field of ornate Arabic calligraphy executed in bold relief, arranged in concentric registers. At the center, within a raised circular cartouche, appears the inscription invoking divine victory alongside the accession date AH 1322. Surrounding the central medallion, additional Arabic legends fill the annular field in elaborate interlocking script. The outermost border is defined by a fine beaded or milled rim, framing the entire composition. The overall design is characteristic of Yemeni Mutawakkilite coinage, emphasizing calligraphic artistry over figurative imagery. |
