| Reverse description | The reverse features a central circular cartouche enclosing four crossed Mutawakkilite flags arranged in an X-pattern, their staffs meeting at the center with star-adorned banners spread across the field. A continuous band of ornate Arabic calligraphy in high relief fills the broad annular border surrounding the central device, recording the mint legend and the AH date 1358. The coin's field beyond the inner circle is entirely occupied by densely interlaced script, leaving no plain field visible. The milled rim encircles the entire composition. The design reflects the monumental presentation character of this rare gold issue struck at Sana'a. |
