| Opmerkingen |
Pos Malaysia postal orders occupy an odd corner of notaphily — they are legally valid financial instruments, not postage, and were widely used for small domestic remittances at a time when rural Malaysians had limited access to banking. The 2 Ringgit denomination sat at the practical lower end of the range, commonly used for magazine subscriptions, school fees, and catalogue orders through the 1990s and into the early 2000s.
Pos Malaysia Berhad was corporatised from the federal postal department in 1992, and the transition to a commercial entity brought updated security features to the postal order series around the turn of the millennium. Collecting these as notaphilic items remains a minority pursuit — most were cashed and discarded, making uncashed examples with intact payee fields genuinely uncommon.
