| 背面描述 | Central field contains a two-line Arabic inscription stating the mint name and Hijri date, enclosed within an elegant wreath of two olive branches adorned with berries and leaves, tied at the base with a decorative floral bow. The upper line reads the mint formula and the lower line bears the four-digit Hijri year numeral. Small pellet or berry ornaments are scattered along the inner border of the wreath. The reeded rim is clearly defined, and the overall composition is symmetrical and formally arranged in the Ottoman provincial style. |

Struck under the Husainid bey Ahmad I Pasha, this coin was issued when Tunisia retained nominal Ottoman suzerainty while operating with substantial fiscal independence. Abdülmecid I's name appears as the reigning sultan, a constitutional formality the Husainids maintained carefully to preserve their political standing with the Porte — even as Tunis increasingly managed its own monetary affairs.
Ahmad I had just issued Tunisia's first written constitution, the Fundamental Pact of 1857's precursor, making 1847–48 a period of deliberate modernization. KM#106 is the sole two-rial type of his reign tied to this particular sultan's regnal citation.
