Obverse description Central field occupied by a multi-line Arabic legend enclosed within a wreath of olive or laurel branches tied at the base with a decorative bow, the whole contained within a toothed (beaded) border. The inscription in the central field reads the titulature of Ottoman Sultan Abdulhamid II, styled as Sultan Al-Ghazi. The wreath is rendered in fine relief with naturalistic foliate detail. No effigy is present, consistent with Islamic numismatic convention. The overall design is aniconic, relying entirely on calligraphic and vegetal ornamentation.
