| 正面铭文 | DEUTSCHES REICH 2 REICHSMARK 1939 |
| 背面描述 | Prominent right-facing bust of Paul von Hindenburg, Field Marshal and former President of the German Reich, occupying the majority of the coin's field. The legend 'PAUL VON HINDENBURG' arcs around the upper periphery, while the birth and death years '1847-1934' appear to the left of the portrait. The mint mark is positioned between the truncation of the neck and the date '1847' at the lower left. The portrait is rendered in strong, detailed relief in the academic tradition. |

Hindenburg died in August 1934, yet his portrait continued to appear on Reichsmark coinage through 1939 — a deliberate political calculation by the Nazi regime, which found it useful to maintain the association with the revered field marshal rather than accelerate the transition to overtly National Socialist iconography on silver circulation coinage. The .625 fineness adopted for this series represented a reduction from the Weimar-era standard, part of a broader rearmament-driven policy of conserving fine silver.
