Descrizione del rovescio	Reverse of this hammered cob presents the principal counterstamp applied by Costa Rican authorities, consisting of a crowned shield within a beaded oval cartouche. The shield is quartered by a bold cross, with the denomination numerals '2' and 'R' prominently struck in the lower two quarters, identifying the piece as a 2 Reales. Partial lettering from the underlying host coin's original design — likely a colonial or early republican Spanish-American issue — remains faintly visible around the perimeter of the irregular planchet. The legend HABILITADA EN COSTA RICA J.B. 2 R encircles the counterstamp, the initials J.B. attributable to Juan Barth, the Costa Rican official responsible for the habilitación. The overall surface shows the characteristic distortion and uneven strike typical of emergency cob coinage.
