| Описание аверса |
Type I Costa Rican countermark applied to the obverse of a Mexican Republic 2 Reales host coin. The countermark consists of a radiant six-pointed star impressed within a recessed circular punch of approximately 7 mm diameter, applied to the left-center field of the host coin. The host coin displays the Mexican eagle — perched on a cactus with wings spread and serpent in beak — surrounded by the partial legend REPUBLICA MEXICANA, with flanking olive and laurel branches forming a wreath along the lower rim. A round hole, cut to validate the coin's reduced silver content, is visible to the right of center. |

Reverse retains the design of the Mexican Republic 2 Reales host coin, featuring a prominent radiant sun with long tapering rays emanating from a central orb, occupying the majority of the field. The peripheral legend, partially obscured by the cut hole at lower left, reads 2·R·Z·1826·A· with assayer and mint initials, referencing the Zacatecas Mint. A small rosette or star ornament appears as a separator within the legend. The coin's edge is partially visible, showing evidence of the milling from the original host issue. |
